OpenGCUA lets an AI model control your Mac (clicks, screen capture and shell commands it writes itself) through an unnotarized developer build. Run it only on a separate macOS user account or a test machine, stay signed out of banking and work accounts while using it, and revoke Accessibility, Screen Recording and any other permissions you granted when you are done.
The software is Apache 2.0. You pay your own model API costs. The macOS harness and Cross-Device SDK are labeled preliminary. The team's own GCUA model is not released. Benchmark numbers in the README are the authors' claims and were not independently checked.
