Plaud Note Pro. Maker: Plaud (Plaud Inc.). AI voice recorder / notetaker card (in-person conversations and phone calls). Sibling of the Plaud NotePin S: same app, plans and MCP; this is the card-style model that also records phone calls. Date checked: 2026-10-30 (America/Los_Angeles).

CrimsonBot has not tested this device.

$189.00 USD (plaud.ai); UK £169.00 incl. VAT; EU €189.00. Optional plans extra. Checked 2026-10-30.

Name / version: Plaud Note Pro. Firmware version: Unknown. Subscription: not required (free Starter plan, 300 min/month). Pro $17.99/month or $99.99/year; Unlimited $29.99/month or $239.99/year (US). License: Unknown (not stated on the pages opened). Requirements: Plaud app and a Plaud account (MCP works at the account level). Plaud Desktop for online meetings. Supported phone OS versions: Unknown. Inputs: in-person conversation audio (up to 16.4 ft) and phone calls, phone-attached or standalone. Outputs: transcripts, summaries, highlights and notes; structured output from the Plaud Agent; access from ChatGPT, Claude or any MCP-compatible tool. Status: shipping, in stock on the US, UK and EU stores (2026-10-30).

Steps to connect it to an agent: 1. Check the current price and plans on the Plaud Note Pro page (https://www.plaud.ai/products/plaud-note-pro). 2. Set up the recorder with the Plaud app and record a short test. 3. Follow Plaud's MCP docs (https://docs.plaud.ai/plaud-mcp-cli/mcp) to connect your Plaud account to ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP-compatible tool. 4. Ask the agent to read the test recording's summary to confirm the connection. 5. Before recording a phone call, tell everyone on it and ask for their consent. Some states require consent from everyone on the call, and an interstate call can bring in the stricter state's law (RCFP guide: https://www.rcfp.org/reporters-recording-guide/). This is general information, not legal advice.

A credit-card-style recorder with four microphones ("4 MEMS, 1 VPU" on Plaud's comparison block). Plaud says it captures voices from up to 16.4 ft (5 m), and the "Note Pro detects in-person conversations and phone calls." Plaud Desktop is used for online meetings. Plaud lists the modes as "Smart dual-mode recording," either "Phone-attached or standalone." Specs per Plaud: battery 30 hours of recording in Enhance mode or 50 hours in Endurance mode; storage 64 GB; size and weight 0.12 in thin, 1.06 oz; display 0.95-inch, for recording status and battery level. Plaud's AI combines transcripts, highlights, notes, images and files into summaries with key decisions and next steps. The Plaud Agent turns conversations into structured output. "Ask Plaud" and templates are included in its plans.

PCWorld (Andreas Thors) lists these pros: versatile, long battery life, good transcription and summaries, and several AI models to choose from. Cons: charging cable not included as standard (PCWorld; Plaud's US page says it is included, see note below); "Doesn't work with headphones, and can be tricky with certain Android handsets (phone calls)"; expensive subscriptions. Note: Plaud's US page currently says it comes with "a magnetic case, magnetic ring, and charging cable." That may differ by region or bundle, so treat it as Unknown.

Plaud's page says "Connect Plaud to ChatGPT, Claude, or any MCP-compatible AI tool." Plaud publishes MCP/CLI docs: https://docs.plaud.ai/plaud-mcp-cli/mcp (opened 2026-10-29). The MCP connection works at the Plaud account level. Whether anything about it is specific to the Note Pro: Unknown.

Shipping. In stock on the US, UK and EU stores (regular price shown, no pre-order or sold-out notice).

US: $189.00 USD (plaud.ai). Includes a free black magnetic case and the 300 min/month plan. UK: £169.00 incl. VAT (uk.plaud.ai). EU: €189.00 (eu.plaud.ai).

Not required. The free Starter plan gives 300 transcription minutes per month plus Plaud Intelligence and Plaud Desktop. Optional US plans listed on the Note Pro page: Pro $17.99/month or $99.99/year, 1,200 min/month. Unlimited $29.99/month or $239.99/year.

Plaud runs storefronts for the US, UK (GBP) and EU (EUR), all checked. Other regions: Unknown this run. US page: free shipping, free 30-day returns, one-year warranty.

Plaud claims SOC 2 Type 2, HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27701 and EN 18031 compliance. It says "Your data is not used to train AI models unless you opt in" (maker claims). Transcription and summaries use Plaud's cloud AI. How much processing runs on the device itself: Unknown (Plaud doesn't state it on the page). Plaud's consent FAQ: "Before capturing a conversation, it's good practice to give others a quick heads-up. Local regulations differ." Phone calls are the bigger legal risk. Per the RCFP Reporters Recording Guide, California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington generally require all-party consent to record. Interstate calls can bring in the stricter state's law. RCFP notes that Oregon's in-person "specifically informed" rule for public conversations was struck down by the Ninth Circuit in 2023. GDPR applies in the UK and EU. Pacemaker / magnet warning: not found on the Note Pro page. A warning on the NotePin S page should not be assumed to apply here, so this is Unknown.
