Name / version: Omi (AI pendant). Hardware revision: Unknown (see the offline-memory conflict below). Price: $169 USD sale, $229 list. Checked 2026-10-30. Paid plan price: Unknown. Subscription: not required (Omi: "Free app, no subscription needed"). License: open-source hardware and software (per Omi). Specific license: Unknown. Requirements: Omi app on a phone. Supported phone OS versions: Unknown. MCP access needs an MCP-compatible client. Inputs: in-person conversation audio (2 microphones); the separate Mac app also takes Zoom/Meet/Teams call audio and screen content. Outputs: transcripts (25+ languages), speaker identification, summaries, memories and action items; readable by agents through the hosted MCP server at api.omi.me/v1/mcp. Status: shipping, "In stock · Ships worldwide" (Omi, 2026-10-30).

Steps to connect it to an agent: 1. Check the current price and paid-plan price on Omi's pricing page (https://www.omi.me/pages/pricing). 2. Pair the pendant with the Omi app and record a test conversation. 3. Follow Omi's MCP docs (https://docs.omi.me/doc/developer/mcp/introduction) to add the hosted server (api.omi.me/v1/mcp) to Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor or another MCP client. 4. Ask the agent to search your memories or read a transcript to confirm the connection. 5. Read the privacy policy (https://www.omi.me/pages/privacy) for where audio goes, and tell people you are recording where the law requires it.

Omi is a small pendant (2.5 × 1.5 cm) with 2 microphones. It captures conversations and sends them to the Omi app, which transcribes them in 25+ languages, identifies speakers through speech profiles, and turns conversations into summaries, memories and action items. Specs per Omi: battery 10–14 hours; connectivity Bluetooth and Wi-Fi; charging magnetic USB-C; records offline and syncs later (per Omi; see conflict below). There is also a Mac app that takes notes in Zoom/Meet/Teams calls and can see your screen. Hardware and software are open source, and Omi advertises "1,000+ apps."

Conflict to note: TechCrunch (Mar 20, 2026) says the pendant "doesn't have any onboard memory" and must be connected to a phone. Omi's current page says it records offline and syncs later. Whether the current unit is a revised model: Unknown.

Omi runs a hosted MCP server (api.omi.me/v1/mcp). Per Omi's docs, it works with Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor "and any compatible client." Through it, assistants can search and edit memories and read conversation transcripts, people, action items, goals, daily summaries and synced screen activity. Omi also offers a Developer API and an app ecosystem. For Omi's own AI replies, the privacy policy names OpenAI as a processor.

Shipping. Product page says "In stock · Ships worldwide."

$169 USD on Omi's pricing page, after "$60 discount applied automatically." The list price is $229, and the pendant page calls the $60 off "limited time." TechCrunch listed it at $89 in March 2026, so the price has changed. Other currencies: Unknown.

Not required. The pendant page says "Free app, no subscription needed." The free plan includes unlimited on-phone transcription plus 300 cloud minutes per month. Paid plan price: Unknown. Omi's own pages showed different figures on 2026-10-30 ($19/month on the pendant page, $269/year on the pricing page). Check omi.me/pages/pricing before buying.

"Ships worldwide" from the US, processed in 1–4 business days. Country exclusions, duties and local pricing: Unknown. Returns within 5 days of delivery; 1-year limited warranty (Omi).

Data path (Omi privacy policy, effective 10/30/2026): Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication and storage. Speech-to-text by self-hosted models plus Soniox, Modulate and Deepgram, which receive audio as it is transcribed. OpenAI receives text prompts but "no raw audio." Perplexity receives web-search queries you request. Data is transferred to and processed in the United States. The policy also covers data about people you identify, including names and voice samples. Location (including background location) is collected only if you permit it. "No training without permission": Omi says it doesn't use your content to train AI models without explicit permission. Omi claims SOC 2, HIPAA, AES-256 at rest and TLS in transit (maker claim, not independently verified). On-device processing: Omi says you can "keep conversations on your phone, with the cloud optional" and offers unlimited on-phone transcription. How much processing happens on the pendant itself: Unknown. Consent law: this device records other people. Omi's FAQ: "let people know when you're recording where that is required." The RCFP Reporters Recording Guide lists California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington as generally requiring all-party consent. RCFP notes Oregon's in-person "specifically informed" rule for public conversations was struck down by the Ninth Circuit in 2023. GDPR and local laws apply outside the US.

Best for: tinkerers and developers who want a lower-cost, open-source, always-with-you notetaker whose memories plug into Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor over MCP. Not for: anyone who needs independently reviewed accuracy, wants audio kept off third-party US cloud processors by default, or regularly records people in all-party-consent states without asking.
